I AM a home owner in Broadgate, Preston.
On returning home yesterday (June 11) from work I was greeted with a very colourful sight -- recycling bins sat opposite my house!
Now, although I like the idea of recycling, I am not at all happy about them being placed opposite my house and it is not a pleasant sight to greet me every morning.
The thing is, as residents, myself and neighbours were simply not consulted on the matter -- these things just appeared one morning.
I do not think the councillor who decided on their placement even considered us.
I expect the bins to be misused, perhaps vandalised, maybe set on fire and most certainly explored by the same hooligans who stand on the bridge next to the bins throwing stones at passing cars and at our houses.
If the council has not taken this into account at all, they could expect a flood of complaints about glass covered roads.
Finally, I want these bins to be placed elsewhere, restoring the view I once had from my house.
I would like a full explanation as to why I was not consulted at all about the placement of these bins.
