WE wish to convey our support for M. Duce, headteacher of Peel Brow School, Ramsbottom, who was suspended over alleged exam irregularities (Bury Times, June 8).
The school provides not only excellent educational achievements but also enhances the children's emotional needs by providing a safe and secure family environment for them to flourish in. This is directly due to Mr Duce's input and ethos for the school and the dedication and devotion of all members of staff there. This was verified by an outstanding Ofsted report in May.
The allegations against Mr Duce appear to be petty and vindictive and, as yet, unfounded. We can therefore only hope that the investigation produces a just and satisfactory outcome. The distress and disruption this has caused to Mr Duce, teaching staff, children and the majority of parents has been immense. He has our full support.
