STEVE McMahon has announced his first signing of the summer -- John O'Kane joins Blackpool from Lancashire neighbours Bolton Wanderers on a two-year contract.
John is a former Manchester United trainee who arrived at the Reebok from Everton. He seemed to have established himself as first choice for the right back spot but has decided to move on following a bust up with manager Sam Allardyce.
Quick, determined and aggressive, he has also contributed at the other end, scoring some important goals.
Speaking about his decision to join the Seasiders, O'Kane said: "Things didn't work out at Bolton. I fell out with the manager after getting sent off and just didn't get another chance. I'm glad that Steve has given me the opportunity to come to Blackpool, a club who are definitely on the up".
Steve said: "I'm delighted to have got John -- he's an experienced player who has played at the top level and I am sure he will improve the team."
