POLICE in are asking property owners to check if their keyholder details are up to date.

Keyholder is a service offered by the police that allows owners of alarmed premises, both domestic and commercial, to give contact names and numbers of people who should be contacted if alarms go off.

Insp Steve Haworth, manager of the Eastern Division Communications room, which covers Blackburn with Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley, said: "It is vitally important that we have up to date details of alarmed premises on our computer system.

"We receive many calls every day about alarms sounding and we need the co-operation of property owners to ensure their properties are left secure."

Anyone wishing to update their keyholder details should call Blackburn Police on 01254 51212 or visit their local police station.
