Nelson magician dies, aged 64

A magician who used his tricks to spread the word of God in Pendle schools has died after a long battle with colon cancer.

Jack Ingham, 64, from Ronaldsway, Nelson, known to many as ‘Magic Jack’, died on February 2, at Royal Blackburn Hospital.

The evangelist and magician who was a member at the Central Gospel Mission, Nelson, travelled to Mexico, Romania and Pakistan on missions to spread the gospel.

His daughter, Deborah Bridge, said: “He touched the lives of so many.

"He was such a good guy and gave his love of God through magic.”

Mr Ingham also worked at the Safe Space homeless project from 2000, where he helped young people aged 16 to 25 find accommodation and work .

Just over a year ago he was honoured, winning the title of ‘Local Hero’.

Pastor Ian Humphreys said: “Jack was an amazing man.” Jack leaves sister and brother Eileen and Harry, daughters Deborah and Abby and six grandchildren.

His funeral will take place on Thursday.

The cortege will leave the Central Gospel Mission, Nelson, at 10am and.

A service to celebrate Jack’s life will be held at the Central Gospel Mission, beginning at 11.45 am. Family flowers only.
