Three East Lancashire UFO sightings revealed in new ‘X Files’

THE truth is out there for UFO spotters in East Lancashire after three close encounters were made public for the first time.
Contained in 4,000 pages of declassified Ministry of Defence documents are three cases of curious happenings over the skies of Colne and Burnley.
A copper gold triangle moving at right angles caught the eye of a Colne resident on 18 October 1994.
Lancashire Police were also alerted to a stationary bright flashing red light hovering above a garden in the town on 23 February 1996.
In Burnley, authorities were informed of 250 sight-ings of an object in the sky which was travelling at high speed towards Hebden Bridge on November 22 1995.
The document described weather conditions as norm-al and “two brilliant lights first two occasions, amber third time.”
More than 800 reports between 1993 and 1996, plus material dating back to 1981, are documented in the documents released on Monday.
This was the fourth batch of UFO information put on show since May last year.
Chairman of Bolton UFO Society, Phil Catterall, 45, estimated five per cent of cases were unexplainable and is sceptical about the new data.
He said: “What we have seen is only the tip of the iceberg as anything of real significance would not have been placed on public record by the MoD.
“That kind of information would be withheld as it would be classed as too important and a matter of national security.
“In the past six months alone I have been informed of 10 sightings in East Lancashire.
"The most interesting case occurred in March when a couple driving along the A666 saw a bright light circling Darwen Tower before shooting off at tremendous speed towards Blackburn.
“The million dollar question is, what exactly are we seeing?
“To get the answer, people must keep reporting what they witness so we can compile statistics and investigate.”
Mr Catterall’s group is in operation throughout the North West and has several members in the Blackburn area.

The only strange thing about these sightings is the fact they are always around BAE Systems airfields!

I stopped the car and got out to see what it was and then, without a sound, it shot like a bullet from a standing start directly over the valley towards Pendle Hill.
Over the valley, it turned immediately through 90 degrees and headed to Yorkshire.
I am fairly certain that what I saw could not have been man-made due to speed, manoeuvrability, and the complete silence and that a human passenger just would not stand the G-forces.
No, it was not a shooting star, weather balloon, aircraft lights, etc, so, Mr Whalley, it is not all rubbish!

You completely missed my point. What I find amazing is that small minded buffoons automatically assume that any object or light in the sky that they cannot explain is an alien that has come to visit us!
When you say that the world can't handle the 'TRUTH' do you mean that most people would not understand the vast scale of the universe or are you one of those who, after watching the X-Files or Close Encounters, believes that we are being visited?

What you saw was more than lightly ( I say lightly because i do not except we are the only living species in the universe), would be the hologram system set up under Project Bluebeam, better known to the majority as the 'Star Wars' systems.

They have the ability to project holographic images across the sky, and for the more stark abilities of this system...to project the image of each respective religions messiah in the sky.

Did anyone else see that orange 'fireball' over darwen last night around 10 p.m?
I believe there are other witnesses on other websites around Lancashire.
To me it looked an aircraft in trouble with a busted engine?,or even one of these chinese lanterns everyone is so keen on launching nowadays?
Was quite fast whatever it was?

People who believe that they have seen an alien spacecraft are no less deluded than those who see ghosts or believe in a supernatural omnipotent being who controls us all.
We know a lot about our world and our existence but we know far less than we don't know! Just because something is unexplained does not mean that we have aliens, spirits from beyond or God visiting us!
