A LUXURY hotel on an exotic island in the Pacific Ocean has been decked out in fabrics made by a Pendle firm.

Designs, by Panaz, of Spring Mill, in Fence, are gracing the interior of the Aurora Hotel, on Catalina Island, just off the coast of Southern California.

Tony Attard, managing director and founder of Panaz, said: “We have offices in California, so we do a lot of work over there, but the Aurora is a particularly nice hotel, so it shows that our designs are regarded very highly on an International scale.

“One thing we find is that fashion designers are regarded very highly and textile designers are one step below, but ours stand very highly on an international level.”

Panaz, a Double Queen’s Award winner, was founded in 1986 and last month named in the top 20 of Lancashire’s Hot 100 top-performing small and medium enterprises.

Lisa Bruchmann, project designer at the luxury resort, said : “I chose Panaz fabrics because they fit the feel of the Aurora Hotel so perfectly.

“We knew already that we wanted blues and browns and something that would give us the feel of the ocean, and the wave pattern on the Panaz drapery fits that perfectly. And all fabrics fit the budget, so it was a perfect fit all round.”
