Armed police officers were seen in a Lancashire town this morning following a report of a man with what appeared to be a handgun.
Officers were called to Waterloo Road, Blackpool, at around 9.30am this morning and located a 28-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm.
He remains in custody.
A police spokesperson said: "We would like to thank the local community for their understanding and cooperation while we dealt with this fast-moving incident which has now been resolved."
