A train guard was ‘punched to the ground’ during an altercation on a train service at Chorley Station.
According to the British Transport Police, a train guard was being “threatened by a youth”.
An off-duty guard came to the assistance of his colleague and was then “punched to the floor” by another youth.
The guard then sustained a cut to his face.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: “A report was received that a train guard was being threatened by a youth and an off-duty guard who was also on the service came to the assistance of his colleague and was then punched to the floor by another youth, sustaining a cut to his face.
"Enquiries ongoing.”
