An East Lancashire high school has announced it is closed today due to a major water leak.
Haslingden High School has had a huge leak in one of its science labs which has affected the electrics and the ceiling below.
As a result, the building has been deemed unsafe, and the leak has rendered the toilets and canteen out of use.
The leak is in the Greens Lane building.
A spokesperson for the school said on Wednesday morning (March 20): "School closed today.
"We have had a major water leak in a science lab, which has affected the electrics and the ceiling below.
"The building is unsafe - toilets or canteens are out of use, so cannot open safely.
"We will update later in the day on tomorrow."
Haslingden High School's website states: "Haslingden High School is closed today because of a severe water leak in the Greens Lane building.
"Teachers will set work for students to do today via the Edulink app.
"Further details will be posted here later today.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
