AN annual open gardens event helped to raise more than £1,000 for a fundraising group.
The Fence and Pendleside fundraising group held the annual open garden event, which included 10 gardens open for viewing, along a route in Fence, Pendle.
People were able to walk round the gardens over two afternoons, and complimented the gardeners on their planting and design.
The group has now revealed they managed to raise a fantastic £1,564 for Pendleside Hospice
Anne Callaghan, organiser of the Open Gardens, said: “There were ten lovely and varied gardens open for viewing over the weekend in July in aid of Pendleside Hospice.
"This is an annual event where lots of regular visitors come and enjoy the gardens on show.
"Ice cream, soft drinks and refreshments were served on the lawns in two gardens.
"Thanks to the people who kindly opened their gardens and to the visitors who supported the event."
