A FORMER bank manager and football club vice chairman has appeared in court and denied theft and deception charges involving £127,000.
Mark Gidlow, 45, of Brownlow Street, Clitheroe, pleaded not guilty to 23 charges covering a period from March 1998 to May 2005.
Gidlow, who was a branch manager at Barclays Bank in Burnley, denied nine charges of theft from Barclays Bank, nine of theft from named individuals, three of obtaining property by deception and two of using a false instrument with intent.
Judge Robert Brown set a trial date of August 13 at Preston Crown court and it is expected to last five days.
Gidlow, a former vice chairman of Clitheroe FC, was granted unconditional bail.
