A REWARD is being offered to catch two men who robbed a Burnley jewellers.

David Marsden Jewellers, Keirby Walk, Burnley, has offered a reward of up to £2,000 for information leading to the arrest of the robbers and the recovery of items stolen.

Detectives have also released images of a number of items similar to those stolen during the raid.

The robbery took place at approximately 11.20am on May 2 when two offenders threatened a member of staff and stole a large quantity of watches and jewellery, valued at more than £10,000.

The two thugs burst into the shop and told the woman staff member to get out of the way.

They then broke into one of the shop window display cabinets and grabbed watches and jewellery before making off.

Detectives carried out a forensic examination at the scene in a bid to try and retrieve any fingerprint evidence and studied town centre and shop CCTV.

Officers believe someone may well recognise the jewellery and perhaps been offered it for sale since the robbery.

The haul included:
Numerous diamond rings with gold or platinum bands and pendants which have FEU' stamped inside.

A number of gold earrings and pendants bearing the hall mark HD/C.

Agents Omega Constellation Bimetal bracelet watch, model 1212.30, watch no. 56912803 and a number of gents Tissot and Armani watches.

The first offender involved in the incident is described as a white male, 6ft tall aged about 25 years of skinny build with a pale complexion, and sharp facial features.

His accomplice is a white male, 5ft 5in tall, aged about 25 years, of average build. Both had local accents.

The reward is being offered for the arrest and conviction of the robbers and recovery of the property.
