TRADERS from Darwen Market were seen by millions of people today on GMTV.

Camera crews from morning television show GMTV headed to Darwen earlier this month after producers of the show heard about market traders' support for the Five Star Scanner Appeal for a children's hospital.

Darweners aim to raise £10,000 for towards a campaign by the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, Pendlebury, to buy a £1million high tech MRI scanner.

Darwen Shop and Business Association launched the appeal after hearing about a little girl's battle with a tumour.

Two-year-old Madison Allan, from Lower Darwen, was diagnosed with a tumour on her back when she was 10 months old.

She is being treated by the hospital and would benefit from tnew he scanner.

Future events planned include a fashion show on July 8.
