Thirty timber pallets were destroyed during a fire at Canterbury Market on Saturday night.

Two fire engines were called to the Sumner Street site in Blackburn at 7.46pm.

Two shipping containers stored at Berry's Animal Feeds were ablaze and crew had to force their way into them.

They then spent two hours using a jet hose to extinguish the flames.

Police and fire officials are treating the fire as suspicious and are carrying out an investigation into the cause of the blaze.
