A GARAGE which has attracted complaints from residents over noise and smells looks set to be allowed to keep its new flue system.
CJ Hardie, in North Valley Road, Colne, had its application for retrospective planning permission for the flues deferred in February after neighbours asked for noise reduction measures.
Council officers have since reassessed the site and say that improvements to the pipes, which extract fumes from spray booths, have reduced noise to a satisfactory level.
Residents have complained again to the planning committee, saying they are still unable to sit out in their gardens in summer.
But planning officer Lee Greenwood said: "There has always been a spray booth internally and an external extraction unit at the site, and the new flue has been installed to comply with current legislation.
"The applicant is not considered to cause any significant harm to the living conditions of the neighbours."
Pendle Council's Colne and District Committee will make its decision on Thursday.
