Brian Miller - one of Burnley Football Club's greatest servants - died on Saturday morning, aged 70.

Miller, a one-club man who dedicated more than four decades to the Clarets, passed away peacefully at Burnley General Hospital following a short illness.

He was surrounded by his family.

Popular Burnley-born Miller was at the club through its highs and lows.

He managed the Clarets twice, and was in the hot-seat for that unforgettable victory over Orient in 1987, which preserved Burnley's Football League status.

He was also a star player for the Clarets, and was part of the 1960 Championship-winning side.

In fact, he played in every league and cup game that season.

A year later, he was capped by England for the match against Austria.

Miller played a role in all four Championship sides.

In 1960, he was a player. In 1973, a coach. He was manager in 1982 and chief scout in 1992.

Brian's son David went on to play for Burnley, as did son-in law Derek Scott, and his sons Chris and Paul.

He will always be remembered as a great servant to Burnley Football Club.
