Burnley College student Katie is now appealing for supporters to vote for her on the competition’s Facebook page so she can appear in the final at The Globe on Blackpool Pleasure Beach in October.

They have until July 1 to vote.

Katie, who has the full backing of mum Helen and dad Tony, as well as elder brothers Sam and Josh, would get a prize of £1,000 and a fast-track entry to the catwalk if she wins the high-profile national competition.

Katie, who attended Alder Grange High School in Rawtenstall, is currently studying public service at Burnley College.

The five foot three inch tall blue-eyed blonde said: “My ambition has always been to become a mounted policewoman as I love horses. That’s why I am studying public service at college and considering becoming a police cadet.”

“I have done a few photoshoots and modelling has always been the fallback position to the mounted police.

“I am so excited to have made it to the semi final.

“Making the grand final would be a dream come true.

“If I won who knows what happens. It could open doors to a career in modelling.

“I sent some pictures in and have now made the semi-final.

“Now it’s up to a vote on Miss Teen Great Britain’s Facebook page.

“I hope people will vote for me so I can represent Rossendale.

“It would be a dream come true.”

If she does take the £1,000 top prize, she plans to buy a horse to replace the one she sold before studying for her GCSE’s.

The weekend of Miss Teen Great Britain is set to be full of fun, with the finalists enjoying a ‘Beauty Queen Challenge Day’, a pyjama diva party with the winner being offered a year of personal appearances, charity wok and possible TV and modelling opportunities..
