A DOG is being blamed for almost sparking a house fire in Burnley earlier this evening.
Firefighters were called to a home in Brunshaw Avenue after the dog jumped up at some cakes in the kitchen and flicked the electric hob on at around 7.05pm.
A spokesman for the Lancashire Fire and Rescue service said firefighters used fans to clear the property of smoke from the burnt cakes.
