THOUSANDS of people received phone calls in the middle of the night, warning them of today's adverse weather.
The automated calls came from Electricity North West, and were sent to households across East Lancashire.

A spokesman said a technological fault had caused a delay in sending the messages, which were due to be sent out yesterday afternoon.
They were sent to people that Electricity North West had identified as vulnerable customers.
