Some had queued for more than two hours before the store opened just for a chance to meet the players.

First in the queue was Glenys Potts, 73, who has been visiting the ground since 1956 to cheer on the Clarets.

Shop assistant and Burnley fan Adrian Bloomfield said: “We had people of all ages coming to see them.

“They’re both really down to earth guys, they had no egos and seemed to enjoy themselves.

“There was a really great atmosphere.”

The Clarets have yet to win a game this season on their return to the Premier League.

Sean Dyche’s side have drawn four and lost five of their opening nine games and face a daunting trip to the Emirates on Saturday when they face Arsenal.

Both Ings and Trippier starred as the Clarets stormed to promotion from the Championship last season – although the pair have suffered with injuries since Burnley returned to the top flight.

Ings showed signs that his injury is behind him when he scored his first goal of the season in the 3-1 home defeat to Everton on Sunday.

The Clarets are next in action at Turf Moor on Saturday, November 8, when they host Hull City.
