The Holy Trinity RC Primary School, Nelson, pupil will have her design sold in the chain’s 330 nationwide stores and will receive a £50 voucher for the shop for her school.

Molly’s winning design features a reindeer which she had created using her handprints.

All profits from the cards will be donated to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.

Molly’s mum, Jacqueline Bullock, said: “Molly is a really keen artist and seems to have a bit of a talent for it. I spotted the Christmas card competition on the internet. Molly came up with the idea to use her hand prints to create a picture of a reindeer.

“We didn’t expect to hear anything but just a few weeks later found that her design had been selected to feature on the cards. She was over the moon.

“She has had a run of winning art competitions – she won one at Easter for a new shopping centre in Skipton and around the same time was a runner-up in an Early Learning Centre competition.

Molly’s teacher, Miss Tate said: “Molly is so pleased to have been picked as one of the champion designers. She really enjoyed creating the card and is the envy of all of her classmates. It’ll be lovely to see the card on Home Bargains’ shelves.”

Home Bargains operation director, Joe Morris, said: “Following the success of last year’s design competition, we wanted to give children the opportunity to once again see their creations sold in our stores. We have been blown away by the number of excellent entries received.”
