BARNOLDSWICK is in the running to be named one of the country’s best towns, in the Great British High Street Awards.
The award comes in a government-backed competition to find and celebrate the nation’s best high streets, and Barlick was nominated for the award by the Town Centre Action Group.
Richard Milner, who co-chairs the group said: “We’re delighted to be in the running.
“Our application focuses on how the vibrant Visit Barnoldswick events, including May’s Music Festival and Barlick Beach, contribute towards a busy, bustling, buzzing town centre.”
The winners of the awards, who will be announced in the autumn, will receive a share of £50,000 prizemoney and dedicated support and mentoring from industry experts.
People can show their support for Barnoldswick online by tweeting their photos to @TheGBHighSt, using the hashtag #gbhighst, and using #gbhighst in Facebook posts.
