A CARE home in Nelson was given the thumbs up after a recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission.

Pendle View, in Chatham Street, met all the essential standards examined by the regulator.

The report included the following comments: “People using the service told us they had no worries or concerns about their care and support. There were enough care workers to make sure people got the support they needed in line with their care package. We observed some positive interactions between people using the service and staff.

“Arrangements were in place to review people's needs and abilities. This meant their individual needs and choices were being be considered and planned for. Care workers spoken with described the managers as supportive and approachable.We found people were involved with decisions which affected them informally on a daily basis.”
