BURNLEY have undertaken a £4million refurbishment of Turf Moor and their Gawthorpe training base in preparation for the Premier League.

The Clarets have upgraded both dugouts with new seating, extended the press box and gantry, installed a new 3D gantry, refurbished seating in the away end, while at the training ground new pitches are in the process of being completed, along with other new facilities.

While manager Sean Dyche has been working on adding to his squad and strengthening for top flight football, he is mindful that some of the cash injection following promotion to the Premier League has had to be set aside for work behind the scenes.

Burnley and Pendle Citizen:

“We've taken some big steps off the pitch. We had to change a lot of things,” he said.

"The ground’s been turned around very quickly. The cabling for the media alone is a massive job.

“There are new pitches at the training ground.

“A lot of work has been done but you can only do so much at one time.

“There are lots of things we wanted to put in place that we haven’t been able to, but we've added to it and hopefully that will enhance the chance of the group going further.”

Nelson firm REM, which specialises in designer furniture and equipment for the hair and beauty industry, has branched out to create bespoke seats for the dug-outs. And one of the first opposition managers to get to try out the firm’s new seating will be Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho on Monday night.

REM’s link with Turf Moor came earlier this year when financial director and keen Claret Chris Blakey came up with the idea of producing beds for the club’s physiotherapy department in the club’s colours.

Chris said: “It turned out that the club needed 34 seats for the new dug-outs. The seat designs are in Claret and Blue, incorporating a headrest with sponsors' names 'Fun88' and a chair back with 'REMsalons' embroidery.

"The whole factory has been buzzing with excitement since we clinched the deal.”

Very impressive...

Unfortunately there is no mention of the fact that many of these upgrades are infact compulsory in order to participate in the Premier League. The new 3D gantry and extended press box to name two.

As for refurbished seating in the away end, seriously? All they have done is painted the wooden seats. Its still a disaster waiting to happen. The metalwork is rusting and the concrete crumbling.

How much benefit are those supporters paying £700 a season ticket going to see from all this work?

Going to take a bit more than a lick of paint and a few comfy seats to make Turf Moor a Premier League standard facility.

Do worry lad. Though the mirror doesn't lie and you probably do look like a lump of the brown stuff, keep buffing. A blind bird who doesn't mind the stench of your Blue supporting tendency will turn up eventually, just like her nose.

That bitterness runs ever deeper.. They'll be suicidal if we manage to finish outside the bottom three.
I was never like this during the dark days of the 80s I just threw my frustration into supporting my team and channelled it positively. Maybe they realise now that all Bowyer managed to do was temporarily apply the brakes last season and now they are about to begin tumbling again.

All this upset and anger over a bit if wiring and a lick of paint. Poor suicidal Blackburn fans will have to be restrained from jumping under trains when we actually stay up. The truth is they can't stomach it. We coped with years out of the top tier, they simply cannot bear it. Deluded fools think they're going back soon. Oh dear! Cheer up chimps it's only football.

Who's upset? I think it's top drawer comedy gold. £120 big ones and what do you lot do? Paint some rotten seats and glue a new players tunnel to the side of a monstrosity.

"Blackburn fans will have to be restrained from jumping under trains when we actually stay up" - Really? The fact you all assume we have the same bitter and twisted rage fueled mindset that you've had the last 40 years shows your general idiocy.

My favorite bit is: "When we actually stay up", followed by "Deluded fools"

Cue the canned laughter.
