PADIHAM Leisure Centre has organised a fun-filled event to mark its re-opening.

The centre had been shut for essential maintenance work. But on Sunday, August 17 between 10am and 4pm, the centre will be running a Get Going event which is also part of a national campaign organised by UKactive and Change4life encouraging people to be more active and get moving.

The event will feature many free activities. Furthermore, for one day only, there will be no joining fee for those who wish to sign up as a member of Burnley Leisure Fitness membership, saving £25.

The centre’s manager, Garry Stein, said: “The essential work for the facility has been required to secure the long term future of Padiham Leisure Centre as it approaches its 45th year.

“The Get Going event is aimed at not only restarting the leisure centre activities, but also aimed at getting more people active, showing them that exercising doesn’t have to be boring.”
