MILLIONS of football fans around the world will soon be able to have a kick around on the hallowed pitch at Turf Moor — in the digital world at least.

Burnley's promotion to the Premier League means the 22,546 seater stadium will feature in the latest instalment of FIFA 15, the first time it has featured in the popular long-running series.

The game’s maker, EA Sports, was also given access to the ground to take high res scans to help create the virtual ground.

The game promises ‘an unprecedented level of detail in the players and all 20 Premier League stadiums, including Turf Moor, as well as the integration of broadcast quality graphics, audio and commentary that ensures players will feel the emotion and intensity of the most popular football league in the world.’

Burnley’s players have also posed for 3D head scans so fans can hit the back of the net with Danny Ings, or perform drop-defying heroics with Tom Heaton, to their hearts’ content.

Recordings inside Turf Moor will also be used to recreate the deafening din of a live match atmosphere.

FIFA 15 will be released in the UK on Friday, September 26 on PC, Xbox One, and the Playstation 4.
