EAST Lancashire MEP Sajjad Karim has been reappointed as chairman of the European Parliament’s advisory committee.
Martin Schulz, who beat Mr Karim, from Simonstone, in the recent presidential elections, will resume the role he held before the vote.
Mr Karim said the ‘Code of Conduct President Advisory Committee’ strived to attain the highest of standards in public life for MEPs. The select five-member committee meets in private and has the ability to consider all allegations of improper conduct by MEPs.
Mr Karim said: “It is a tremendous honour and privilege to once again be bestowed with the responsibility of ensuring.”
