A SHOPPING centre has launched a county-wide searching for the areas new top models who could rival Rossendale supermodel Agyness Deyn.

The Mall in Blackburn has started its model search ‘with a difference’ to celebrate Blackburn Heritage Festival.

Starting on Saturday and running each weekend until July 27, the Lancashire’s Got Style competition is looking for people of all ages to represent every decade from the 1940s until present day.

The winners will hit the catwalk in a special fashion show that will feature retailers’ autumn and winter ranges on Saturday, September 13.

Shoppers can enter by going to the Ask Me Point in Victoria Court on each Saturday and Sunday, where they will fill in a simple form and have their picture taken.

At the end of each weekend, seven stylish shoppers, one from each decade, will be selected, resulting in 28 finalists. All finalist pictures will be loaded on to the The Mall’s website from Monday, July 28, when the public can vote for their favourite.

One model from each decade will win a £150 Mall Gift card and be a star and VIP for the day at the event in September, which will also include a celebrity appearance. Loraine Jones, general manager at The Mall Blackburn, said: “Our last Lancashire’s Got Style model search was a huge success and all the winners thoroughly enjoyed their taste of fame.”

The Blackburn Heritage Festival will take place between September 11 and 14 and is part of a national Heritage Open Days event.
