HOME owners in East Lancashire are being urged to make sure their home is safe and secure as the summer holiday season approaches.

House-builders Taylor Wimpey said residents should make sure windows aren’t left open when people are out, valuables are kept out of sight and gardening tools are locked away.

If you are going on holiday they suggest asking a trusted neighbour to keep an eye on the property.

David Hnyda, sales manager for Taylor Wimpey North West, says: “A house is supposed to be your safe haven, and our customers want peace-of-mind knowing that their family home is well protected against a potential burglary.”
