POLICE and the fire service staged a mock car crash in Colne town centre to warn people about the dangers of drinking and driving.
The mock crash, which was staged on the Market car park from 9.30pm on Friday, involved the emergency services demonstrating what happens during an emergency call out.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “The aim of this was to capture people while they were out on the town enjoying themselves and educating them around drink driving.
“Obviously everyone knows not to drink and drive and are aware of the implications of this, however this scene is visual and designed to be impactive to make people think twice.
“Our drink drive campaign is well under way during the summer months which means increased road side stop checks throughout Pendle as well as other initiatives such as this scene.”
