A PAEDOPHILE who sexually abused a boy and a girl and had a stash of child porn is starting a five-year jail term.

Burnley Crown Court heard how Robert Gyles Court, 21, had intercourse with a frightened schoolgirl at a house and twice performed sex acts on her in a wood.

Court also taught a teenaged boy — who thought he was weird — how to kiss, after making advances to him around the same time as the girl.

Police found 173 indecent images of children — males and females aged between two and 12 — on his computer.

The hearing was told although Court had no previous convictions, his behaviour had come to the attention of the police and he had been served with two Child Abduction Notices, in relation to a teenaged boy and girl.

He had also been made subject of a civil anti-social behaviour order, taken out by a housing association because he had pestered a 14-year-old girl and waited outside her school.

Officers had raided his home and found the photos in January 2013, after a 14-year-old boy's mother complained to police.

Court, who was born in Trinidad, admitted two charges of assault by penetration and one count of sexual activity with a child against the girl and one allegation of sexual activity with a child involving the boy. The offences took place last summer.

The jobless defendant, of Salterforth Road, Earby, also pleaded guilty to four allegations of possessing an indecent photo of a child - 119 images at level one, 11 at level two, 20 at level three and 23 at level four, all between 2009 and 2013.

He was given an indefinite sexual offences prevention order and ordered to sign the sexual offenders register indefinitely.

Sentencing, Judge Simon Newell said: “These are serious offences for which there has to be a serious punishment.”
