A POPULAR Colne pub has reopened after a £240,000 makeover.
The former Golden Ball pub has now been re-branded The Spinning Mill after the investment from leaseholder Dane Bentley, in partnership with Punch Taverns, one of the UK’s leading pub companies.
The pub has been closed for three weeks while the refurbishment was carried out, and the investment has created five new jobs.
Inside, the pub has been redecorated in a traditional style to create a warm and cosy feel, and there are sports facilities and screens showing live sporting events.
A new menu has been introduced featuring home-made food, including freshly-baked cakes by the manager Laura Redman.
The pub will also be introducing a wider selection of drinks, including cask ales and coffees.
Laura and her partner Jonathan Snowball have been put in charge of the pub’s day-to-day operation by Mr Bentley.
Laura said: “The pub looks fantastic and I can’t believe the transformation.
“We’ve changed the name to The Spinning Mill to reflect the close association of the immediate area with textile industry.
“We have some great plans for the pub and will be having various sports teams, a quiz night and we are really proud of the new landscaped beer garden and look to make the most of this in the summer.
“The investment has given us the new facilities and garden area to allow us to cater for families, strengthen our food offer and ultimately bring the pub back in to the community.
“The team and I look forward to the reopening and welcoming some old and new faces back to the pub to celebrate the new look with us.”
