Burnley and Pendle Citizen: Facebook group to help the homeless in Burnley Facebook group to help the homeless in Burnley

KIND-HEARTED strangers behind the Help The Homeless movement have set up a new internet group.

‘Love Burnley’ on Facebook is aimed at people in the town who are struggling.

Organisers said: “We’re so overwhelmed by how many people have come together as a community that we’re going to be setting up a group specifically for people in Burnley who go through hard times.

“We’re going to be guardian angels of this area and raise funds for the causes that need our help.”

The project was born from a message posted online by Nelson man Liam Canning, who travelled home during stormy weather in February. Since then, good Samaritans have given food, drink and clothing to homeless people across East Lancashire.

come on !! there is no need for homelessness nor for begging period.in this day and age there are homeless shelters and soup kitchens in every town,in many cases these so called homeless people are milking it for all its worth and the bulk of their finances either goes on drink or drugs and in many cases both so don,t bother telling me some sob story about family breakdowns etc.
