WARM temperatures are set to hit East Lancashire this weekend in time for a bumper weekend of activities.

Tomorrow and Saturday will see the return of the Clitheroe Beer Festival while the region enjoys highs of 18C over both days.

The Orphanage Cup final will kick off at Darwen’s Anchor Ground at 6.30pm on Friday.

A comedy night is also due to be held at Chipping Village Hall that evening from 8pm after the annual May Procession from St John’s RC Primary School in Burnley from 10am.

A Lantern Parade is also set to leave Pendle Heritage Centre at 5pm as part of the on-going Festival of Wonders.

The Bombay Lounge in Barrowford is set to host a fundraiser from 8pm for the Burnley teenager Declan Edwards who died recently.

On Saturday a Help For Heroes fund raising event will kick off at Accrington Academy.

The event, which will be held from 11am to 3pm, will include various activities, stalls and a ball pool.

A ‘lads v dads’ match in aid of the Christie Hospital in Manchester will also kick off at Heys Playing Field in Oswaldtwistle at 1pm.

Sunday will see members and supporters of the Church and Oswaldtwistle Rotary Clubs walk along a section of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.

The Only Way is Essex star Lydia Bright will host a pamper day at The Mall in Blackburn on the same day – showcasing her clothing line, with a pop-up store, and offering styling advice.

Witton Park Country Fair will also take place in Blackburn all day.

The Fellsman Classic Tour, organised by the Lancashire Automobile Club will see dozens of vintage cars out on Saturday.

The cars will leave Mitton Hall in Whalley at 10am.

Tom Pridmore, Ribble Valley Borough Council’s tourism officer, said: “It’s going to be a great weekend to be out and about.

“There is always something going on in Lancashire. Why would you travel anywhere else?”

The weather is set to be kind from tomorrow onwards with highs of 18C on Friday and Sunday but will drop to 16C on Sunday.

No rain is forecast until Sunday evening and there will be variable cloud throughout the weekend.

There will be thicker cloud and a strengthening breeze on Sunday.
