AN investigation has begun into a huge fire at a recycling plant in Burnley this morning.

Firefighters were called to a blaze at Enviro Skip, off Accrington Road, just after 5am.

There were traffic delays in Accrington Road as eight fire engines attended the scene with many littering the busy main road.

A fire service spokesman confirmed the flames had been extinguished by 9.20am and a clean-up operation had begun.

An investigation has now begun with officers looking through the debris to try to discover the cause of the fire.
