THE new £4million Colne Health Centre will open its doors for the first time on Monday, May 19, NHS chiefs have announced.

Community services will start to move into the Craddock Road premises next Monday.

Three surgeries from the current centre – Colne Family Doctors Surgery, Horsfield Practice and Richmond Hill Group Practice – will move in on Friday, May 16, and be operational from May 19.

Richard Jones, area team director for NHS England in Lancashire said: “We thank the people of Colne for their patience whilst details for the move have been finalised.

“Colne has a superb new health centre providing state-of-the-art facilities fit for 21st century healthcare which is now ready to open its doors to patients.”

The centre has its own car park and will be fully accessible for patients, with two lifts leading from the main reception to the first floor.

The new health centre also has a number of new features which include a dedicated outpatients’ suite, internal pharmacy, district nurses’ base and treatment rooms.
