PROPOSALS for 30 new homes to be built on the site of a former paint firm have been thrown out by planning officers.

Edgworth-based David Lloyd Partnerships Ltd had applied to build the bungalows at what used to be the workshop of Dexter Paints, in Gannow Lane, Rosegrove.

But Burnley Council refused the development before it even reached the committee stage to be voted on by councillors.

In a detailed design and access statement submitted in February, David Lloyd Partnerships, based in Broadhead Road, Edgworth, said the project would ‘provide a significant investment in the local area’.

The dilapidated workshop would have been demolished to make way for 12 one-bedroom and 18 two-bedroom semi-detached houses.

The council is yet to publish its reasons for refusal.12 one-bedroom and 18 two-bedroom semi-detached houses.
