THE boss of one of Burnley’s top leisure centres has congratulated the town’s football club on its promotion back to the Premier League.
Andy Brown, managing director at Crow Wood Leisure, said he had been privileged to host the players at the Royle Road facility a number of times this season.
Mr Brown, a member of the Burnley Bondholders group, said he believed the promotion would have a positive effect on the town as a whole. He added: Everybody at Crow Wood is delighted – it’s a massive achievement and a real boost for the town. We’ve got 3,400 members, so the buzz about the place has been fantastic.
“We’ve frequently had players and staff from the club using the facilities at the Woodland Spa and we’ve been impressed by their focus and determination.
“We’ve had a really memorable year – this is the icing on the cake.”
Burnley Council chief executive Steve Rumbelow said last week that the Clarets’ promotion would boost Burnley’s economy by ‘tens of millions’ of pounds.
