ADVICE on how to prevent damp and save money on fuel bills will be provided by a Burnley social landlord at a ‘roadshow’ next month.
Calico will be holding the drop-in event at Rosehill Baptist Church on Thursday, May 15, from 9.30am to 11.30am.
Leanne Smithson, Calico’s investment administrator, said: “We’re aware that damp and condensation is an issue that is on the rise across the country, and it’s hitting people on low incomes particularly hard.
“We‘ve developed a roadshow because we want anyone who is worried about these issues to know that they can speak to us directly.
“Wherever properties need work, we’re committed to carrying this out.
“However, in two thirds of cases reported to us, the problems are caused by condensation, rather than structural damp.
“This is also a major concern, as it can seriously affect people's health and is totally preventable.”
