SCOUT groups met at Darwen Tower to mark Easter.

A service for members of Bold Venture Park and St Joseph’s scouts was held on Easter Sunday at 6.30am.

The youngsters had carried a cross to the tower in the days leading up to the celebration.

Prayers and hymns were shared and an accompaniment was played on the piano accordion and flute as the sun rose over the Haslingden Grane Road.

Michael Grime, group scout leader for Bold Venture Park, said: “We went for our Easter Day sunrise service.

“Members of St Joseph’s Scouts and Bold Venture Park went with some parents.

“We have done it for the last few years and it is part of the ongoing faith award.

“The groups were also involved in taking the cross up to the tower on Palm Sunday.”
