MOTORWAY police have closed the slip road at junction seven on the M65 after a motorcyclist came off his bike.

An ambulance and police crews attended the scene near Accrington just before 9pm tonight.

The rider has been taken to hospital with a suspected broken arm and suspected broken leg but is thought to be in a stable condition.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “We assume that the rider slipped off his bike because of the rain.

“No other vehicles were involved.”

Vans and lorries drop diesel at that junction made worse by rain. It`s monday night and people are eager to get home from work.
Not the ideal conditions. Glad the rider is ok and hope he recovers well.

If it was you who were lying in a pool of blood and mush I'm sure you would appreciate the amount of attention you and your family were receiving from the Police, Ambulane and Fire Brigade.

You, like the numerous others who post comment via the LT are quick to criticise the emergency services are complate and utter W--K--S. You are nothing but keyboard warriors who hide behind the anonimity of a keybooard. You are contemtable scum.

For once realise what you have, you should be grateful for. If not, take a a quick trip over the channel to Europe and see how you would be treated in France and Germany, Spain and Italy. You would just get the S--t beaten out of you or just plain ignored and pushed to the side of the road like a lump of dirt.

Unfortunately I was involve in an acccident in France a few years ago and the comparison is beyond belief. Needless to say I will never support France at footie or rugger. (T--Ts). Nelson and Wellington rule OKAY!.

M Foster says...

As suggested, it could indeed by spilt diesel. My bike went straight from under me at about 10 - 15 mph last year as I set off from the give-way juction rounding the Duke of Lancaster (Sheperds) pub into Colne. I believe that was the cause. I have had front wheel spin from my car at the same point which confirms the lack of traction. It is dangerous and almost impossible to see. The council concerned should look to investigating that area,

The L.E.T. should be applauded for such an in depth and detailed report.
Not to mention the picture of police and ambulance vehicles to ensure we aren't left in the dark wondering what they may look like...
