CIVIC buildings and Burnley landmarks will shine bright blue tomorrow evening as part of a charity awareness campaign.

Burnley Town Hall, Burnley College and the town’s central viaduct will illuminate their premises as part of Autism Speak’s Light It Up Blue campaign.

Since the formation of Light It Up Blue, iconic global buildings, such as the Empire State Building, its New York neighbour Madison Square Garden, Sydney Opera House, and Niagara Falls, have ‘put the spotlight’ on autism by turning blue for the night.

The events have been organised by a businessman and DJ Scott Noddings, and his partner Davina Walker, who were inspired by working closely with Action for ASD, Burnley’s autism support centre, based in Queen Street.

Scott, 40, a DJ at Smackwater Jacks, said: “I began this last year and once again have been gratified at the response which shows there’s a caring spirit and excellent sense of community in Burnley with big organisations, such as the council and college, only to keen to show their support.”
