A PENDLE nursery has been rated good by Ofsted in its first inspection since coming under new ownership.

The education watchdog said children at Brook Farm Children's Nursery in Harden Road, Kelbrook, benefitted from ‘good quality teaching’ and praised ‘staff's enthusiastic and motivating approach’.

The farm-based nursery, which re-launched last year, employs 22 staff to look after the 145 children on its register.

Inspector Rachel Ayo said: “Effective arrangements are in place for meeting all children's individual needs through strong partnership working with parents and others.

“Consequently, all children are effectively integrated into the life of the nursery and feel a strong sense of belonging.”

She added: “Children's welfare is promoted effectively because staff have a very secure knowledge of child protection issues through a strong focus on safeguarding training.”

The inspector said that in order to become outstanding, Brook Farm would have to improve its ‘organisation of space and resources’.
