LANCASHIRE County Council leader Coun Jenny Mein has authorised officials to settle compensation with a staff member who was made redundant.
Her decision is to prevent the woman’s claim going to an employment tribunal.
The undisclosed sum will take into account a redundancy claim and the former employee’s access to her pension.
In a decision announced yesterday, Coun Mein authorised County Secretary and Solicitor Ian Fisher to settle the claims.
She says: “This decision should be implemented immediately to minimise the costs incurred by the county council on court fees.”
