A MUM-of-two is endeavouring to take children on a musical journey as part of weekly music and multi-sensory classes.

Hartbeeps, which is run by Janette Taylor, aims to take a trip into an enchanting world with new places, props and puppets each week.

Classes are currently run across East Lancashire every Monday and Tuesday and plans are being put in place to hold the classes on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays as well.

Former social worker Janette, who lives in Colne, said: “I am a foster carer as well as a mum of two boys and this is the best ‘job’ in the world to fit perfectly around that.

“I have worked with children in different capacities for 15 years, in schools, children’s homes and through youth and children’s work in various settings and Hartbeeps combines my passions — children and being creative.

“I truly love Hartbeeps and working with the children and adults that come along and I hope it shows.

“It doesn’t feel like work at all, it is a pure joy and delight. Hartbeeps sessions are full of fun, magical moments and many precious memories are made each week.

“Some of my favourite moments have been seeing children, whose parents have described as shy and ‘not one to join in’, begin to explore and find their feet in their own individual way, expressing their personalities and blossoming each week.”

Some Hartbeeps classes are mixed, for babies who can sit with support up to age four, and some are split into three age groups.

Baby Bells is for babies from new-born to sitting, Baby Beeps is for children from sitting to walking, and Happy House is for walkers up to age four.

Janette, who brought the Hartbeeps franchise to East Lancashire in October, said: “Because children develop so quickly in the first few years it is important for the classes to be specially tailored to the age group. Children love music and rhythm but need to experience it differently as they grow.”
