A SUPPORT worker at Lancashire’s mental health trust has pledged to ‘speak up about things we could do better’.

David Mulligan, who is based in the workforce directorate at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust, made the promise on Monday, which was NHS Change Day.

The initiative aims to get as many people as possible to pledge to do one thing to make the NHS better.

Craig Barratt, executive director of workforce, transformation and innovation, said: “NHS Change Day aims to get the message out there that change is in our hands. The NHS is here to improve our health and wellbeing, helping us through ill health and supporting us until the end of our lives.

“Anyone can be involved to make a difference by pledging something small and personal to them or by doing something extraordinary. This is a real opportunity to think about the NHS and the little things we can all do to make a huge difference.”

Pledges so far having included speaking up about things the trust can do better, valuing colleagues’ contributions and going that extra mile to improve patient care.”
