Burnley and Pendle Citizen: Former Briercliffe mill to be turned into children's playground Former Briercliffe mill to be turned into children's playground

PART of a Briercliffe mill is to be used as a children’s play area.

Paul Sconce from Briercliffe-based Kiddy Chaos Ltd has been given planning permission to use two units within Kings Mill, in Queen Street, as a leisure facility.

The site was formerly used for storage, and as a gym, until May 2013.

Burnley Council planning chiefs said work on the play area must begin within the next three years, but that the insertion of windows cannot commence until further details of the windows’ materials, design and size have been submitted.

Forty car parking spaces are to be provided after Lancashire County Council said the applicant’s initial proposal for 20 spaces was ‘insufficient’.

Combine this with the new housing development that will be going up there shortly and they still think that there won't be traffic problems? Good Luck to anyone wanting to get in our out of the area when its busy!
