First published in News

MOTORWAY police fined a man seen risking his life on the M6 in Lancashire today.

OFficers were called to reports of a man on the southbound side close to junction 31 at Samlesbury at around 6am.

They tweeted that there were reports the man was 'running between HGVs' and said: "Crazy but true."

They added an update a short time later to say the pedestrian had been issued with a fixed penalty notice.

Why wasn't he taken for a mental health assessment? Some of the idiotic escapades that some people embark on these days leaves me gobsmacked! Motorways and pedestrians just don't mix.

He's either got mental issues or he's acting like he has I'd section him for a week , more effective than a fixed penalty ,,

If the HGV had swerved to miss this moron it could quite easily have caused a major pile up with loss of life. I have no doubt the lorry driver would have been jailed. A fixed penalty for this behaviour is wholly inappropriate.
