AN accident in Burnley caused rush hour delays yesterday.

The A682 Centenary Way was closed both ways after a car crashed, which led to queueing traffic.

The incident involved one vehicle, and happened between the A671 Trafalgar Street, and B6240 Manchester Road and Red Lion Street.

A lamppost was damaged in the accident and was hanging precariously across the carriageway, affecting traffic heading past Tesco.

A diversion was put in place in both directions, via Manchester Road and Red Lion Street.
